Responsibilities


  • ​Responsibilities of the Behavioral Intervention Team
     
    The responsibilities of the BIT Team include:
    -Receiving and gathering information pertaining to students of concern.
    -Developing specific strategies to manage potentially harmful or disruptive behavior.
    -Making recommendations to University officials regarding appropriate actions that are consistent with policies and procedures.
    -Informing the referral person concerning the next steps to be taken with the student. The referral person must understand that not all action steps will be discussed, given the confidential nature of the information.
    -Educating and training the community on how to identify concerning behaviors and how to take proactive actions to assist students.​
